The Nordic book fair is the largest gathering place for written words in the Nordic region.
The Gothenburg Book Fair will celebrate 40 years in 2024, and this will be the 40th consecutive year that the fair is held at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre.
Each year, the fair is dominated by a particular theme - whether it's a country, a linguistic region, a geographical area or a cultural topic.
The Sapmi book fair theme in Gothenburg 2024 will focus on the culture of the Sami people, and the diverse Sami literature. The Sapmi book fair theme will be presented in collaboration between the cultural institution Tjallegoahte which is the honorary guest at the fair in 2024 and the Sami authors associations Bago, Sami Girjecalliid Searvi.
