Hong Kong Fire Services Department will participate in the Education & Careers Expo to engage the public and promote its recruitment drive. We want to attract more people and help them understand our responsibilities better by highlighting the job responsibilities, difficulties and displaying many aspects of the Fire Services Department's operations and equipment. This year, we have introduced an "Ethnic Minority Development Program", as we found that students from minority groups who are interested in joining our ranks need additional support. The Expo this year has been overwhelmingly well received by visitors. Numerous young people have visited our booth in order to find out more about our open positions, and expressed interest in applying. Anyone interested in working with us can take advantage of the on-site fitness and eye tests. This has attracted a lot attention. We have been able to find many potential candidates through the fair, and each year we hire our best team members. The experience has been enlightening and we are delighted to be part of it.
